The most popular application for garages is a solid base coat with vinyl chips to achieve the faux granite look. With many vinyl chip and base coat colors to choose from, this type of floor is able to meet practically any decorating need. After the concrete has been prepared, the primer is applied. Then after the colored base coat is spread, the vinyl chips are cast on top with the color and density of your choice. After that process has cured a final clear top coat locks everything in place for a durable, nonporous easy to clean finish.
For a more uncommon and sophisticated look you may choose an entirely different floor system with color-quartz granules embedded in a clear epoxy for a rich, textured look. These multi colored quartz granules are broadcast into the first epoxy application and then locked in place with a clear epoxy top coat. The color combinations are limitless and can be customized for your specific needs. This type of “quartz broadcast” floor can have a texture ranging from aggressive nonskid to smooth depending on your needs. This seamless floor application makes grout maintenance a distant memory and cleaning a breeze.
